About Me

My photo
The day I said "I do" I married the love of my life and the United States Navy. Since then we have been enjoying the life that the Navy has offered us. This is the story of my days as a wife, stay at home mom of 3 , dog wrangler, and coordinator of our crazy lives!

Sunday Funday

I am a blog slacker. I know this. I have a plethora of excuses, but really my motivation is to blame.

Things here have been crazy busy! This is what my last month or so has looked like...

*fly to CT
*essentially buy a house (put an offer in, settled on an agreement with the sellers, signed the paperwork)
*found another house that MAYBE we liked more
*nope, nevermind, lets stick with the original house and its long list of renovations.
*wait a second, we arent going to be stationed in CT for 3 years? maybe we shouldnt buy a house.
*get out of original housing contract.
*decide that we should probably start looking for a short term rental because P and I will be moving in t-minus 3 weeks (give or take a few days).

No, that wasn't a typo. 3 weeks. Preston and I are moving early for a number of reasons. One of them being that my old job in CT called me a week or so ago (knowing that I was moving back this spring) and asked me if I would like my old job back. They need me to be there in mid-April, with a few days of refresher training at the beginning of April. It's a part time retail management job, but I liked it and was flattered that 2 years later they personally called and asked me back. Also, Ed wont be moving to CT until the weekend before SOAC starts, so it made no sense whatsoever for us to wait until then with him.

I am in the process of scheduling a time for the movers to come, finding a place to live, and scheduling when they can deliver our belongings.

It's bittersweet really. It's never easy to leave somewhere that has become like home, but its even weirder when I am leaving to go somewhere where my heart never left. Does that make sense? Some of my absolute favorite people in the entire world are in CT, and in a way, it will be more like going home than anything. I just hate that I am leaving behind other people that I care about. Maybe I will start my own commune and just have everyone I love from all over the world in one location. That actually sounds a little creepy now that I think about it. And then what reason would I have to travel?

I am going to make more of an effort to blog while all of this nonsense is going on. If the past month is any indication of what the rest of my year looks like, well, we are in for an adventure.
